Wiltshire Council is an approved adoption agency. The agency arranges adoptions for children and approves people as adoptive parents. Wiltshire Council Adoption services welcome contact from people living in Wiltshire who are interested in becoming adoptive parents.

The range of adoption services on offer also include inter-country adoption, intermediary services for adopted adults, intermediary services for birth relatives, special guardianship support services and step-parent adoption.

    Enquiries are welcomed from people of any ethnic, cultural or religious background with an interest in being considered for assessment as adoptive parents, including couples whether married or not, gay or lesbian, and single people.

As an adoptive parent, what kind of support will I get?
Wiltshire provides a county-wide adoption support service. A variety of support activities, including social events and ongoing training programmes are offered to adopters. When adopters are matched with a child an assessment is made in relation to their ongoing needs for support as a family.
